Great question Kings! The Mechabar (551:10) says its allowed (yes i had to look it up, not that great a memory), but the Rema says we are Machmir (and give the wine to a child to drink after Havdala). In any case, Grape juice should be fine.

Yeah, but what happens when there is no child? And where does it say that Grape Juice is an better, i thought them just the same! - Oiker HarimJul 20  '12 at 08:48

You’re right that some hold that grape juice should be avoided as well, but afaik, most hold that those who make Havdala on wine every week should do it in the 9 days as well, and if someone does drink wine, I’d rather its grape juice because the reason for prohibiting wine “יין ישמח לבב אנוש” does in reality not exist in grape juice. Nonetheless, the Rema clearly states that if a child isn’t available, one can drink it - YossiJul 20  '12 at 20:36
