Is it wrong to send a boy to a Yeshiva where the boys father is a Maggid shuir? [closed]

My father is thinking of sending my younger brother to a Yeshiva where he is a maggid shuir. He would only go to his shuir in two years but I feel it puts a lot of unnecessary pressure on the Bachur to have his father breathing down his neck. A father of a Bachur isn't supposed to know what time his son gets up for Shacharis!

@DovF my brother is for it but i dont think he knows what is good for him, he thinks it will be useful. He's only 16, doesnt know much about Yeshiva life - Oiker HarimAug 02  '12 at 21:02

@oikerharim It's good for some people and not good for others. I would suggest speaking to someone who knows your brother and your father. - Dov FAug 02  '12 at 21:28

@DovF its really all hypothetical because he is going there anyway. Just though i'd confirm my opinion with the crew. Ta anyway - Oiker HarimAug 02  '12 at 22:53

I know a bachur who in a standard American yeshiva who was nearly ruined from the pressure of having his father there. Every time his father did anything the Bachurim didnt like he automatically felt he had to side with the Bachurim when with them and with his Father when with him. Needless to say, he almost had a nervous breakdown until he changed Yeshivos.

I'm in my father's shiur and I love it. So many advantages over being in a random shiur.
